Wren Hall Nursing Home is a purpose-built accommodation linked to the original Wren House set in its own mature grounds of approximately two acres. It is situated at 234, Nottingham Road, Selston, a quiet village in Nottinghamshire, only a few minutes from Junction 27 on the M1 motorway.

Wren Hall was opened in November 1989. It is family owned by Doctor and Mrs Kesari and their daughter Mrs Anita Astle. Doctor Kesari was a General Practitioner for over 40 years. Together all have a wide range of health care experience.

Day to day running of the Home is led by the Manager/Matron, Mrs Astle, who as a Registered General Nurse, works "Hands on" acting as role model team leader, mentor and friend. The Wren Hall team comprises a total of around sixty five persons dedicated to providing the highest quality of nursing care, twenty four hours per day, to all Residents.

Wren Hall is equipped with modern up-to-date facilities in accordance with the National Care Standard Commission's guidelines. Wren Hall accommodates a community of forty-one Residents, who are elderly and frail and maybe physically or mentally disabled, all of whom require nursing care.

The accommodation is laid out on two floors with eleven rooms on the ground floor and nineteen on the first floor. A passenger lift in the reception gives ready access to the upper floor.

Autonomy and Choice
You will be encouraged to achieve optimum independence, enabling you to participate in the day-to-day activities, make choices and retain a sense of purpose and achievement. You will also continue to handle your own financial affairs as long as you have the ability and inclination. All care plans are prepared in consultation with you, the individual Resident and your relatives or advocate if you wish. You will be allowed to see your own personal records at any time.

There are various support organisations and government agencies, which may be able to give assistance with funding or give advice should you have any problems that you do not want to discuss with staff at Wren Hall.

Advocacy
Advocacy Services provide information, support and representation to vulnerable older people who may be facing decisions about their future, e.g. about continuing to live at home, moving into or from a care home, enabling them to ask for or to obtain services to which they are entitled.

Such a service enables older people to explore options and make the best choices within given circumstances.
